Chatting with author D.V. Stone

I'm delighted to welcome D.V. Stone to my blog. Both of her Agent Sam Carter Books are available as Kindle Unlimited but are also on sale for a limited time at $.99 each. But before we get to that, let's meet D.V. Stone!

What inspired you to write this book?

Several years ago I was working on both a fantasy novel and a romantic suspense. During the Christmas Holiday season, my family attended a concert at church. While waiting for it to begin, my nephew, Carter, who sat several seats away began crawling over the laps between us until he reached me.

Leaning in with his hands holding his chin and cheeks said, “You write books don’t you?”

Not knowing where the question was leading I peered down at him. “I do. How can I help you?”

“Well,” he replied. “I want you to write a book about me. I want to be a secret agent with a really long mustache and ride a motorcycle.”

I said, “Okay.” Why not work on three books at the same time. (I’m rolling my eyes.)

Now here I am with two Agent Carters and a third one in the works. The books are so much fun with a lot of “Easter Eggs” for anyone who knows our family or area.

What's your favorite genre and why?

I am a multi-genre author. I write Fantasy, Paranormal, Contemporary Romantic Suspense. I read across all genres and particularly like Young Adult Fantasy. Some of my favorites are The Inheritance Cycle Eragon; Eldest; Brisingr; Inheritance by Christopher Paolini and Harry Potter. (Before you ask I’m a Hufflepuff.) One that I must mention is The Chronicles Of Narnia by C. S. Lewis. I just listened to the audio of it and re fell in love with it.

Tell us something about you.

Right know during this interview I am living in my 41foot long 5thWheel camper. My husband, Pete, and I love the life style and he took a job working in a campground while I spend my days writing and being a stay-at-home dog mom.

My favorite thing is to be outdoors especially around a campfire. Traveling and history are two of my passions. Not only reading it, but seeing, touching, and feeling it. Talking to so many interesting people we meet and listening to the stories they share. It’s not an accident The Mystery of High Pointe Tower takes place at a campground.

About the author:
D. V. Stone is an award-winning, multi-genre, traditionally and independently published author. She writes books people want to read. Whether romance or fantasy, her stories are about the importance of friends and family. About overcoming obstacles while doing it with humor.

Around the Campfire is a popular weekly blog where she introduces both established and new authors giving an insider’s look into their lives and books as well as tidbits about her own life.

Recently retired from full-time employment in a medical office, she’s wife to an amazing husband, mother to one son, and not your average grandma to three beautiful grands. A woman of faith, D. V., believes and trusts in God. When not behind the wheel of 2Hoots—a 41 foot long 13.2 feet high 5th Wheel camper she rambles around town in Northern New Jersey in a white Camaro.

“My greatest pleasures are spending time outside with friends and family, cooking over the open fire, sipping a glass of wine, and reading.”

Hali, her rescue dog, always reminds her to let readers know, “Woof, woof.” Which is loosely translated as support your local animal rescue.
