Many of you know Julie from A Tale of Many Reviews from her amazing blog. Julie is also an education consultant with her state’s department of education. She works with schools to help increase student academic performance. Julie is collecting middle grade and young adult books to donate to 3 schools in need of updating their books which are sparse. If you are an author or a reader with extra books please consider donating. Julie’s post with all the details can be found by clicking here.
Julie is also looking to connect the students, authors, and the books via skype interviews and by encouraging students to write a review or be a guest reviewer on her blog. This is an amazing opportunity for students to get more involved in reading and hopefully develop a passion for literature. How awesome is that!
This is amazing :) And such a great cause.
ReplyDeleteIt is a great cause. It's wonderful of Julie to do this.
ReplyDeleteI love this! (I've already sent my books in, but I'll tweet it again.)
ReplyDeleteAnd just when I didn't think I could <3 Julie anymore! She is amazeballs, plain and simple!
ReplyDeleteI hope Julie is successful. When I was going to school a hundred years ago, there was almost no books in our school. There must be tons of books in homes where the children have grown up and flew from the nest. I see them everywhere at garage sales.
ReplyDeleteI would love to see the library at my local high school. I've wonder how stocked it is.
DeleteJulie is so cool. Thanks for letting us all know about this. And I know I was late to the party, but I had fun checking out a few posts/reviews for the Embrace -- looks it was a success. :)
ReplyDeleteI totally agree about Julie. The blog tour went well and it was a lot of fun :)
DeleteGo, Julie! Thanks for letting us know about this, Cherie. I remember joining a reading club at the library one summer and I read 50 books! Fond memories. ;)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great endeavor, I'm a big supporter of anything to do with my local library. I'm not a YA author, but I'll pass the word if I can! :)
