Happy Thursday, everyone!

You might be wondering what's up with the water lilies. They remind me of long walks and sunny days. With spring just about here I thought why not include some bright, cheery flowers in my post today.

This week I've been hard at work fixing a few plot point in my latest WIP. I've re-read over 30 pages, tightening the writing in some places, adding detail in others. I've added over 1500 words, chopped a scene, and keep thinking of new ways to get my characters in and out of trouble. All in all it's been a good week. I'm still working on the first draft of the sequel to Embrace. It's been a little slow going. Funny how once you're published the number of distraction goes up ten-fold. It's okay though. When I'm not working on the sequel, I've been thinking of ways to improve the story line. Madison has been overly chatty. We've had some great conversations about the book and what's happened so far. Only a writer can get away with talking to fictional characters and not be thought insane.

Or maybe some would say we are. Anyhoo, that's it for me today, but I'd love to hear what you've been up to!

    1. I'm always so happy to get back to writing. I was hoping to have the 1st draft done. I guess if I didn't back track it would be, but I needed to fix the beginning to make sure my thoughts for the ending work.

Amen, sister! Looks like you made good progress though. Isn't the spring so inspiring? It's going to be in the 70's in Ohio for the next two weeks and we tied a record high yesterday for 78!

    1. It was 80 in Chicago yesterday. Today is only 70, buy it's a warm 70 and beautifully sunny. I love it.

  3. You go girl. Great that you have the discipline to sit down and write. Once I'm over the initial marketing strategies for TGW, I'll be writing again. Hope to finish Cursed Angel by this time next year. Fingers crossed.

    1. I didn't get much writing in when I was scheduling my launch and tour, but I seem to have fallen into a good flow of balancing writing with all the other things that need to get done. Fingers crossed it stays this way. I'm sure you'll fall into a pattern soon. :)

  4. It's like we skipped over spring and went straight to summer today, eh? I actually put the air on in my car!

Good to hear Madison's been talking to you even while you're making such good progress on your other WIP. You're an excellent inspiration for showing me that writing can be a priority even with a busy life going on all around. :)

    1. Aw, thanks Nicki :)

I was really bad and put the air on in the house. The way the afternoon sun hits us it was just too hot with no breeze.

  5. What a beautiful picture! I love water lilies- and the bright pop of color in the mix just adds to the scene. I love this time of year! Glad to hear that you are getting some work done- but I can imagine that you are busy with lots of other things. I am trying to catch up with my blog and work on my next ms at the same time. Of course- with the gorgeous weather I have also been trying to get outside and enjoy it!

    1. There just aren't enough hours in the day. I'm waiting for a laptop with a screen we can see outside. Then I could write and enjoy the weather.
